In Pilgrim At Tinker Creek, writer Annie Dillard says that "beauty and grace are performed whether or not we will or sense them.  The least we can do is try to be there." I try to be there with camera in hand.

My work is also inspired by a haiku penned by Kobayashi Issa (1763-1828). His poetry often focuses on the ordinary, yet it It challenges me to see things newly as the smallest, most mundane thing may become a vehicle for transformation:

The man pulling radishes
pointed my way
with a radish.
